Valentine’s Day is just around the corner and people everywhere are trying to think of new ways to surprise their special someone. It seems individuals always try to outdo themselves from the year before just so their significant other feels special. Now my husband and I don’t really celebrate V-day in our house but I did come up with some fun date ideas to make the day memorable for your better half.

  1. Recreate your first date- this is a fun way to recreate the spark in your relationship. Try to do literally everything the exact same way as that special day and reminisce on each other’s feelings that night and silly things that might have happened. It may take some extra work but will be well worth it.
  2. Go dancing- you can do this one out on the town or even in your own home. Get your body moving and have some fun with it. It will help you to cut loose and get out of your normal daily routine all while having a blast together.
  3. Lock the doors, turn off the phones and just have the house to yourself- never underestimate quality time with one another. In the hustle and bustle of our society it is easy to lose that connection with your significant other. Order in or cook together, buy that special bottle of wine and even turn on some romantic music. By doing this you will have no interruptions or distractions and can enjoy a romantic and relaxing evening together.
  4. Take an overnight getaway- if your lifestyle allows it, go away together for a night. A change of scenery and some out of the ordinary activities could be just what your relationship needs.
  5. Wine and chocolate at sunset- find a romantic setting somewhere in a quiet area  with a great view. Bring chocolates and wine or even dinner and enjoy a beautiful scenic night together.
  6. Make a reservation somewhere fancy- get all dressed up and spend the night on the town enjoying new food and experiences.
  7. Have a backyard dinner-if you don’t want to deal with the crowds then create a romantic setting in your own backyard. A nice tablecloth, pretty flowers, lovely food and drinks will be the perfect quiet dinner for you to spend some time together.
  8. Take a class together- try something new together. Whether it be a cooking or cocktail making class or even a kickboxing or pottery class just go do it together and have fun with it.
  9. Go to a theme park- if you enjoy thrills then this is perfect for you. Go ride rides, play games and eat the food. It’ll make you feel like a kid again.
  10. Do an escape room- this is a fun way to spend some time with each other while working together to get out!

Each one of these is a great idea to try with your significant other. Just don’t ever underestimate the value of quality time together. Sometimes just doing anything together is all your better half needs and or wants. Having good conversation and one on one time is the most special part of any Valentine’s date if you ask me.
